The rich landscape of the Australian outback was the inspiration for this painting, the rich colours, the river beds, the setting sun, the shimmering heat.  The wide open spaces, the breathtaking vastness of it all.  The faded edges of dark browns add to the rawness depicted in this landscape.  This painting would suit a contemporary or classic setting and looks great either unframed or framed.
