This painting was inspired by the flavour and colour of ripe figs and luscious olives.  I wanted the painting to capture the essence of the Mediterranean afternoon, with rich greens and purples mingling with the warmth of golds and ochres.  Figs and olives are prominent, lending a sense of abundance and vitality to the scene.
