Tulips with their delicate curly leaves are such a beautiful flower and always evoke thoughts of Amsterdam, however the tulip emerged first from the Himalaya area and then from Turkey as early at 1000AD and was first a wildflower. As a study close up, the detail in the petals are stunning, on a large scale the painting has a contemporary freshness that would look perfect in a modern or classic setting creating a fabulous focal point.
